Company homepages are great, aren't they?
So awesome, in fact, that most of the time you're forced to have them as your workstation/laptop homepage.
We have that here (though it its defence it's for our document management server which is used 90% of the time) however for my position where a lot of online research is used, it's a pain to have to wait for the dms to load when what I want is google (or your search weapon of choice).
Simple fix:
I like the new IE9 new tabs page, but you could equally stick any address after the double quotes.
If you're wondering why I don't just use another browser, I do, I have Chrome on here. However the dms needs IE to work as it uses some bespoke components, and having reformatted my computer twice in the last month(!) I tend to keep as little as possible on here!

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" about:tabs
